Our next Octagon House Museum Book Club book will be “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” with the meeting and discussion on Sunday, October 20th at 4:30 p.m.
This is the final book written by Charles Dickens. It is a story of 1800s England; courtship, life of the slums and opium dens, jealousy, and a disappearance.
While working for a Liverpool newspaper Thomas Hughes (of the Octagon House) accompanied Mr. Dickens as he gathered material for this last and unfinished book.
Books are available through your local library and at Chapter2Books. We recommend the Penguin Classics version, as there are MANY different versions!
Our discussion will take place Sunday, October 20th at 4:30 in the afternoon, at the Octagon House Museum. Please RSVP by October 18th at Octagon@StCroixCountyHistory.org.
