SCCHS Presents the New One Room School House

The St. Croix County Historical Society will offer a One Room School House educational series for children age 7 to 12 years. The classes we be held in the Garden House at the Octagon House Museum at 1004 Third Street. The One Room School House takes place one hour, one day, once a month on Saturday, June 8, July 13, and August 10 from 4 to 5 p.m.

During each of the One Room School House classes students will learn about local history using the one room school basic skill set—Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Activity topics will include historic Hudson people and the things they used for work and play in the 1800s. “What is a niddy-noddy, a bell cow, or a wool carder?” Students will be introduced to these and other objects, practice their research skills, and learn about local history
