The St. Croix County Historical Society has a large collection of over 4,000 historic photographs of people and places in St. Croix County. Reproduction photos or scans from the collection are available for purchase for personal display and limited commercial use.
Dating from the mid-1800s to the 1950s the photos in the collection are primarily of the Hudson area and include street scenes, buildings, people, lumber, railroad, farming, school and much more.
A selection of the more popular photos are available for viewing online, however, the majority of the photos have not yet been digitized and require completing a Photo Request Form so our research volunteers can search the collection to see if we have a photo(s) to suit your need.
The cost for personal and commercial display photos is $20 for an 8” x 10” photographic print or a digital scan (suitable for 8” x 10” print). The scans can be used for photographic prints or printed on canvas (also for use in publications with some restricts).
Larger, high resolution, scans suitable for large format printing are also available upon request, at no additional cost, but take addition time for processing.
For questions or more information, please contact the Historical Society at 715.386.2654
Proceeds from the sale of photo reproductions (and additional donations) support the Historical Society’s efforts to preserve, and expand access to, the photos and artifacts in our collection.
Printing your photo:
You can have the digital scan printed yourself on a home printer or at a one-hour photo lab, however, for a high-quality photographic print (or wrapped canvas) we recommend professional service through Kelley Gallery or Siiro Fine Art Consulting where they can consult with you to custom size and frame the photos to fit your space.
